Ladies, while this event is a great place for an adrenaline rush to share with your friends and family, be aware that sometimes the gown you score might not add up to a bargain!
“Sample” gowns are the ones that shops buy to let EVERYONE try on and they’re not cleaned before sales like this. Often they’re quite damaged, so look at the zipper, hem, and the armpit areas very carefully! Sometimes they’re barely touched.
I’ve done some tlc and some major surgery on many gowns from the FROTB, and the longer the list of work for someone like me the higher your repair bill will be including Professional Cleaning, so that we know where the permanent damage is. In other words: ultimately you could’ve bought the gown brand new for the Retail Price $$$.
Dont get caught up in the excitement, focus on your find and whether it’s ultimately worth taking home.
